 The
Rotary Family Literacy Center at the YWCA commemorates the Centennial
year of Rotary International, 2005. It is a collaborative
project of The Rotary Club of Greenville, Greenville East
Rotary Club, Pleasantburg Rotary Club, Foothills Rotary Club,
Greenville Evening Rotary Club, and Simpsonville Rotary Club.
These 6 clubs have renovated a new neighborhood Satellite
Center for the Greenville Literacy Association (GLA) for basic
literacy instruction, with an additional focus on English as
a Second Language (ESL) to serve the immigrant community of
Greenville.
Hundreds of individual, corporate and foundation donors have contributed financial support to this landmark project. CLICK HERE to make a donation.
Rotary volunteers staff the center, under the direction of Greenville Literacy Association. Volunteer opportunities range from one to three hours a week.
