The Lights Return to Roper Mountain
Roper Mountain Holiday Lights has raised more than $1 million for charity

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The upstate’s largest holiday light show returns for its 15th consecutive year on Thanksgiving night. Roper Mountain Holiday Lights runs nightly from 6-10 p.m., November 23 – December 30, with proceeds benefiting dozens of local charitable causes. Approximately 70,000 visitors attended last year’s event, which is a service project of the Greenville Rotary Club. The event is held at the Roper Mountain Science Center near the intersection of Roper Mountain Road and I-385.       

There over 110 towering light displays, complemented by animation and whimsical landscape lighting. Feature attractions include this year’s newest display, Penguin Winterfest, Belly Whompin’ Frosty, the Candy Cane Factory, a brilliantly illuminated 45-foot star, a drive through the tunnel of lights, an animated snowball fight, and the rollicking candy cane lane.

Cost is $10 per car, mini-van, or SUV; $15 per activity van; and $20 per bus. All proceeds benefit charity. Over the past 14 years, more than $1 million has been given to charities in Greenville and beyond. Some of last year’s local beneficiaries included the Project Hope Foundation, Greenville Rape Crisis and Child Abuse Center, Lapsits for Early Literacy, The S.C. Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, St. Anthony of Pudua School, and Greenville Meals on Wheels.
